Jakub Langhammer (born August 17, 1984 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Saale Bulls in Halle (Saale) since 2015 .
Career
Jakub Langhammer began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth team of HC Kladno before moving to the youth team of HC Sparta Prague during the 2000/01 season.
Between 2002 and 2004 he was active for the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League , as he hoped for better chances of a placement in the NHL Entry Draft . At first he had to struggle with adaptation problems, especially with regard to language and play style. After he was not selected in the draft in 2004, he returned to the Czech Republic.
For the professional team of Sparta Langhammer played from 2005 to 2010 in the Czech extra league , where he won the championship in 2006 and 2007 respectively .
Before the 2014/15 season, Langhammer moved to the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 . There he was under contract until the beginning of 2015, before he asked for a contract termination, as he was usually not employed as a surplus foreigner. He then completed two games for EV Regensburg , which was more likely to be committed by the Dresdner Eislöwen at the end of January .
Before the 2015/16 season, Langhammer moved to the Saale Bulls from Halle in the Oberliga Nord.
International
For the Czech Republic Langhammer took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2002 , where he won the bronze medal with the U18 selection. In the senior division, he has so far completed four international matches as part of preparatory matches.
