DKT - The Commercial Talent is a board game with a similar game mechanism as Monopoly and is based on The Landlord's Game . It is one of the most successful board games in Austria . In 1936 the game was published under the title Speculation by the Viennese printing company Stockinger and Morsack ( Stomo Games ) founded in 1857/1868 .

After Austria was annexed to the German Reich in 1938, it was renamed DKT in 1940/41 in order to avoid censorship, since Monopoly had been banned under National Socialist rule since 1936.

In the 1960s, individual illustrations were swapped, otherwise the game has remained unchanged. From 1990 the game was published by Peri Spiele . After the bankruptcy of Perner Produktions GmbH , the owner of the Peri Spiele label, in 2004, DKT was published by Freyspiel from 2005 and in 2007 by Brevillier - Urban published in three editions (Nostalgia Edition, City Edition, Jolly Edition). The game has been produced by Piatnik since 2008 .

Note: The game situation shown in the pictures does not correspond to the official rules. In a city, for example, the only difference allowed is a house on the streets (e.g. also a 4-4 hotel).
