Lists on the subject

The U-hunting Torpedo DM3 A1 of the German Navy was a slight modification of the US Mk-37 -Mod.0 torpedoes. The American torpedoes were procured as early as 1959 and initially used in their original version. When the development of our own torpedo models ( DM 1 and DM2) for use on German submarines, which should be optimized primarily for the Baltic Sea area, was delayed, the old US torpedoes were modified from 1970 to 1974 to improve their running behavior to improve in shallow water areas. The torpedo was now designated as DM3 A1, but the essential parameters continued to correspond to the US model on which they were based.
