history

DOVO Solingen was founded in 1906 as "Dorp & Voos" after the names of the company bosses. Fritz Bracht, who took over the company in 1936, developed from the pure razor factory with forge and hollow grinding shop , a manufacture of fine cutlery with scissors, pliers and pocket knives. By taking over other brands, the range was expanded to include shaving supplies and the focus on high-quality manicure cases . In the family business of the Bracht and Kirschbaum family, which is still independent today, the majority of products are handcrafted at the headquarters in Solingen . On April 21, 2020, the company filed for bankruptcy after around 40 employees had previously been affected by short-time work.
