DRG watchdog

The DRG Watchdog is a database with a search mask for reimbursement-relevant diagnoses in the German G-DRG system (DRG: Diagnosis Related Groups , German : diagnosis-related case groups ) that is accessible free of charge on the Internet . It currently contains around 850,000 of almost 100 million conceivable links between DRG codes and ICD numbers and is based on data provided by the Verband der Diagnostica-Industrie e. V. ( VDGH ) collects annually.

history

  • 1999 to 2000: Prototype based on the Australian AR-DRGs
  • 2001 to 2003: Various Excel previous versions for download
  • 2004 to 2005: php online version with DRG-ICD links and diagnostic tips
  • 2005 to 2006: Download version for integration into your own IT environments.
  • 2007 to 2008: End of funding by the VDGH eV, redesign of the surface.

Publications

The study results were published in the journal Clin Lab 2004; 50: 599-607 published: The significance of laboratory testing for the German Diagnosis-Related Group system.

Typical areas of application

  • Display of the theoretically achievable DRG digits for certain main diagnoses (ICD) and procedures (OPS)
  • Calculation of the associated revenues with display of remuneration-relevant secondary diagnoses
  • Analysis of remuneration potential based on top DRGs or main diagnoses

Support for diagnostic paths was removed in 2008 with the redesign of the interface.
