DTS-ES Discrete 6.1

The DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 sound format was developed by Digital Theater Systems ( DTS ) and is based on the DTS-ES surround format, the sound of which is achieved by adding an additional surround back channel (“SB”) to the conventional 5.1 system. The codec is used on the DTS CD as well as on DVD-Video . In mastering , all seven channels can be assigned and designed independently of one another. The encoding is done with the DTS Surround Audio Suite or the DTS-HD Master Audio Suite in 44.1 kHz sampling rate and to protect any stereo systems with 12 dB reduced dynamics (14 bit amplitude resolution per sample , 1.234 kbit / s data rate) in wav format .
