The German Association for Post, Information Technology and Telecommunications e. V. ( DVPT for short ) is a German interest group based in Heusenstamm .

history

The DVPT was founded on March 6, 1968 as the Association of Post Users by Wilhelm Huebner and renamed the German Association for Post and Telecommunications in 1997 . In order to do justice to the changed conditions of communication in companies, information technology was added to the statutes and name in 2006 as a further focus of the association's activities.

Association activity

Today the association is committed to around 400 business customer members. He advocates deregulation and a competitive market. The DVPT is politically and economically independent and represents the interests of its members in the fields of post , telecommunications and information technology - in day-to-day business, at national and European level.

The association is financed exclusively by membership fees, by organizing user seminars and management forums and by providing consulting services in various areas, such as communication analysis, IT and telecommunications infrastructure, mail security and postal organization.

The chairman of the association is Klaus Gettwart.
