dzw - Die ZahnarztWoche (dzw) is a weekly specialist newspaper for dentists , dental technicians , their employees in practice and laboratory and the entire dental market. It currently appears as the only medium of its kind in the Zahnärztlichen Fach-Verlag - zfv , Herne.
history
The dzw was founded in 1987 by Rolf Hinz , founder and owner of the Zahnärztlichen Fach-Verlag (zfv), and the journalist and publicist Jürgen Pischel, owner of the editorial office in Bonn, who were joint editors of the newspaper until June 30, 2009. Since Jürgen Pischel left on July 1, 2009, Rolf Hinz has been the sole editor of the dzw .
The first edition of the dzw appeared on April 1, 1987. The editor-in-chief was Jürgen Pischel from its inception until June 30, 2009. From July 1, 2009, Marion Marschall was editor-in-chief of the paper, at which time the editorial department was transferred to the publisher. After a comprehensive relaunch in September 2015, dzw appears in a completely new layout. Since September 1, 2017, long-time employee Marc Oliver Pick has been editor-in-chief of the dzw. In December 2019, the editorial office was relocated from Bonn to the publishing location in Herne.

Constant topics of the reporting are health and professional policy, dentistry, advanced training, practice management (practice management, practice marketing, financing, law), billing, new products and materials and economic topics from the dental market. There are regular topic pages on various areas of dentistry. There is extensive coverage regularly on Dental Health Day , the German Dental Conference and every two years for the International Dental Show (IDS).

Since 2020, the dzw dental technology (4 issues per year) focuses on dental technology and dzw oral implantology (4 issues per year) on implantology as separate books within the dzw . The specialist magazine "FAN - FachAssistentNews" has been published 10 times a year since 2020 as a supplement to the dzw. The dzw and its main publications as well as the magazine FAN are available as ePaper .
