Dade Behring was a NASDAQ- listed company active in the field of in vitro diagnostics . In 2006 global sales were $ 1.7 billion.

The company was founded in 1997 as a result of a merger between Dade International and the Behring Diagnostics unit of Hoechst AG . Previously, the diagnostics divisions of DuPont , Syva and Baxter Healthcare were combined in these companies . The company headquarters was in Deerfield near Chicago , with important production locations in Glasgow (Delaware) and Marburg . Well-known brand names of diagnostic devices are BCS, BN II, BEP III, BEP 2000, Quadriga BeFree, Dimension, MicroScan WalkAway and Dimension Vista.

The company consisted of the following product lines: chemistry / immunochemistry, hemostasis , microbiology , infection diagnostics, plasma protein diagnostics and Syva drug and drug diagnostics.
