Lists on the subject

The Daewoo K1 / K1A carbine is the first modern rifle to be developed in South Korea . It was developed from 1977 to 1980.

technology

The weapon uses the 5.56 × 45 mm NATO ammunition. The piston, handle and other less stressed parts are made of polymers.

All existing South Korean K1 versions were modified to K1A, which has a longer barrel and flash hider.

In contrast to the Daewoo K2, the rifle uses a direct gas system like the M16 (rifle) , which is lighter but less reliable.
