Dagmar Bahlo

Dagmar Bahlo (* 1965 in Georgsmarienhütte ) is a German local politician (SPD). Since June 1, 2019, she has been the mayor of the city of Georgsmarienhütte ( Lower Saxony ).

Education and professional career

In 1984 Bahlo graduated from high school. This was followed by a degree in law with a subsequent legal clerkship in Osnabrück and Bonn. She has successfully completed the 1st and 2nd state examinations. Since then she has been working as a lawyer, initially as a salaried employee and then freelance to this day.

Political career

Bahlo has been a member of the Georgsmarienhütte city council for the SPD since 2011, and since then also deputy mayor and member of the administrative committee.

In the 2019 local elections in Lower Saxony, Bahlo prevailed in the runoff election with 60.89% against her competitor Christoph Ruthemeyer ( CDU ). From June 1, 2019, she will be mayor of the city of Georgsmarienhütte.
