Dagmawit Girmay Berhane

Dagmawit Girmay Berhane (born July 27, 1975 ) is an Ethiopian sports official.

General

Dagmawit Girmay Berhane holds an Executive Masters (EM) in sports management, which she received in Lausanne in 2004 . In 2005 she did her Masters in Education Management at the University of Addis Ababa . She works as deputy director for DKT International , a non-profit organization that deals with family planning and AIDS prevention in developing countries.

Offices in sports associations

From 1998 to 2000, Berhane was Vice President of the Ethiopian Martial Arts Association. For the Ethiopian NOK she was Vice President from 2000 to 2004, President from 2004 to 2008 and General Secretary from 2009 to 2013. She has been a board member of the NOK since 2013.

Berhane has been President of the Ethiopian Badminton Association since 2000 and a board member of the Badminton Confederation of Africa since 2009 . She has been Vice President of the Badminton World Federation since 2013 .

For the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa , Berhane has been a commissioner for the women's sports division since 2006 and a board member since 2009. She is also a board member of the Association of National Olympic Committees .

Activities within the IOC

From 2010 to 2015, Berhane was a member of the IOC Commission on Women's Sports. From 2010 to 2014 she worked on the coordination committee for the second 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China . Since 2015 she has been working in the commissions for finance, women's sports and member election. She has been a member of the IOC herself since 2013.
