Lake Daihai or Dai Hai ( Chinese 岱海 , Pinyin Dài Hǎi , English Daihai Lake ) is a lake in the east of Liangcheng County of the prefecture -level city of Ulanqab in the Chinese autonomous region of Inner Mongolia . It is a so-called Grabenbruchsee . Originally it was a salt lake, but it has gradually been transformed into a freshwater lake by the influx of rivers.
It is about 20 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide and less than 20 meters deep.
Cultural monuments
The Neolithic sites on Lake Daihai (Daihai yizhi qun 岱海 遗址 群) - Wangmushan王墓 山, Laohushan老虎 山, Yuanzigou园 子沟 - have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-14) since 2001 .
