Daily Bread was a band from Flevoland in the Netherlands . The band consisted of singer Kimberly van der Velden, drummer Stefan Stoer and bassist Chris Mulder. What was special about their concerts was that all three band members - including the drummer - lined up at the front of the stage. They made use of self-made effects devices and the drums were sometimes played with rattles . The band called their style Sexy Garage Dance .

history

Stefan Stoer and Chris Mulder already played together in a Britpop band, which however broke up. Then they started making music with Kimberly - who comes from the same village and wrote poetry. Daily Bread became famous when they won the Kleine Prijs van Friesland in 2008 . They were also proposed for the Grote Prijs van Nederland , but did not take part because they felt too restricted by the organizers.

At the Bevrijdingsfestival in Leeuwarden in 2009, Daily Bread was the opening act on the main stage. First appearances outside of the Netherlands in Scotland and at the Paléo Festival in Switzerland followed.

The band was signed to Excelsior Recordings in January 2009 , where their debut album Well, You're Not Invited was released in October of the same year .
