Daiya
The Daiya company ( Japanese for 'diamond') was a Japanese manufacturer of lithographed tin toys . The company, operating as Terai Toys Co., Ltd. was named, was founded around 1955 and existed until production was discontinued in the late 1970s.
history
Daiya was founded in Tokyo , Japan around 1955 . The company produced mechanical tin toys, including cars, motorcycles, horses, military vehicles, space vehicles, robots, beam guns, helicopters, airplanes and clown figures. Some of the toys were powered by windable spring mechanisms, others were battery operated. The latter often had lighting and generated operating noises. At the end of the 1970s, the company stopped manufacturing.
