Keron Bramble (born December 9, 1992 in San Fernando ) is a track cyclist from Trinidad and Tobago .

Athletic career

Keron Bramble is a specialist in short-term disciplines, especially Keirin . In 2017 he became national champion in this track cycling discipline. At the Pan American Championships, he fell in the Keirin race and flew over the gang into the stands; a spectator and Bramble himself were slightly injured. At the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia he finished sixth in the team sprint together with Nicholas Paul , Njisane Phillip and Kwesi Browne . In the same constellation, the four riders from Trinidad and Tobago became Pan American champions in front of a home crowd at the National Cycling Center in Couva in 2018 and set a new America record with 42.681 seconds.

In 2019 Bramble, Browne, Paul and Phillip won the team sprint at the Pan American Games . A few weeks later, the team with Bramble undercut its own record from the previous year with 41.938 seconds at the Pan American championships.

In December 2019, the team from Trinidad and Tobago was deprived of the gold medal in the team sprint and Njisane Phillip the silver medal of the 2019 Pan American Games because Philipp had tested positive for doping . Because of this decision, the chances fell for the team, the Olympic Games in Tokyo to qualify. Thereupon Browne and Phillip denied no further competitions, and the Canadian national coach Erin Hartwell left the association and moved to China .
