Dam-huraši

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dam-huraši was the wife of Zimri-Lim of Mari . Until his marriage to Šibtum , a princess from Aleppo , she probably took on the role of main wife and queen. Letters found in Mari show that at some point she was looked after only like a lower woman in the royal harem. It is possible that at some point she was housed in the palace in Terqa , where she also had a cultic function. But her letters also testify to a close relationship with the king.
