The Republic of the Congo took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with four athletes, two women and two men.
It was the eighth time the Republic of the Congo had taken part in the Summer Olympics since 1964 .

The swimmer Marien Michel Ngouabi carried the flag of the Republic of the Congo during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
