Damien McGrane (born April 13, 1971 in Kells in County Meath , Ireland ) is an Irish professional golfer on the European Tour .

He became a professional golfer in 1991 , but mainly worked as a club professional at Wexford Golf Club and then back in his home town, at Headfort Golf Club , where he is now an honorary member.

It was only after the turn of the millennium that McGrane turned more to tournament events and from 2001 onwards he played on the Challenge Tour and on an invitation basis also Irish events on the European Tour . Through the Tour School , he managed for the first time to qualify for the 2003 season of the major European tournament series on a regular basis. Due to insufficient placements, he had to fight for his eligibility again for 2004 and survived this season. In the 2005 season the breakthrough came and with four top 10 places McGrane reached the impressive 59th place in the European Tour Order of Merit . In 2006, too, with good results, he created the basis for remaining on the European Tour. In April 2008, McGrane achieved its first success by winning the Volvo China Open .

Damien McGrane has been married to his wife Geraldine since 1997 and has two children.
