Career

society

Plessis started his career at Olympique Lyon, where he moved to Liverpool in August 2007 and signed a three-year contract. At his presentation, Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez said: "He's a good player, tall and strong and we are sure he will do good for us". He made his debut in the Premier League on April 5, 2008 against Arsenal , which ended 1-1. In the following three years, however, Plessis was only used sporadically and played eight competitive games (1 goal) for Liverpool until his move to Greek champions Panathinaikos in Athens in the summer of 2010.

National team

Plessis played for the French U-19s and took part in the 2007 European U-19 Championship in Austria, where the French team advanced to the semi-finals. There she failed on penalties 4-2 at the eventual winner of the Spain tournament. Plessis shot his team's first penalty and was able to convert it confidently.
