Dan Dumitru Zamfirescu (born November 1, 1953 in Craiova ) is a Romanian politician of the Partidul România Mare .
Life
Zamfirescu studied economics at the Academy of Economics in Bucharest, graduated there in 1977 and then worked as an economist at the Central Institute for Economic Research in Bucharest from 1977 to 1980. From 1981 to 1989 he was an officer in the Romanian Ministry of the Interior. Afterwards he was an officer in the Romanian intelligence service from 1990 to 2002. From 2004 to 2008 he was a member of the Romanian Parliament.
On January 9, 2013, he replaced George Becali in the European Parliament .
