Daniel Clausner

Daniel Clausner (* 1984 ) is a German disabled athlete .

Career

Daniel Clausner grew up in Leipzig . He is severely damaged and has been visually impaired since birth. Despite considerable physical impairments, he wanted to do competitive sports. He therefore became a member of the disabled sports club in Leipzig, where he trained so intensively that he could soon be used in international competitions. He quickly belonged to the squad of the German national disabled swimming team, in which he was used in the S 13 starting class in both chest, back, freestyle and position swimming.

With the German national team, he took part in both European and world championships and in paralompic summer games, where he won numerous medals.

Sporting successes in detail

  • Paralympic Games 2004: 2 gold medals (100 m chest, 200 m medley, 1 bronze medal: 50 m freestyle)
  • World Championships: 2002: 3 × bronze, 2003: 3 × gold, 2006: 2 × silver, 3 × bronze.

For his sporting successes, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993 by Federal President von Weizsäcker.
