Daniel Ernst Wagner

Daniel Ernst Wagner (born April 20, 1739 in Danzig ; † before 1810) was a German private scholar, educator and author of historical works.

Life

Wagner first attended the Katharinen- and Marienschule in Danzig and then the Academic Gymnasium . After his father died in 1757, he became housemate of high school professor Gottlieb Wernsdorf , who was at his side in an advisory capacity. He then studied law at the University of Königsberg . After completing his studies, he became a private tutor for the children of General von Sacken in Courland . Then he returned to Danzig, where he worked as a private scholar. Wagner made contributions on Eastern European history to the encyclopedia General World History , which was distributed by the publisher Weidmann in Leipzig.
