Daniel Guzmán Castañeda (born December 31, 1965 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican soccer coach and former soccer player on the position of striker , who in February 2007 in the Hall of Fame of the State of Jalisco (Orig .: Salón de la Fama del estado de Jalisco ) has been recorded.

biography

Guzmán, also known by the nickname el Travieso, began his professional career in 1986 in the ranks of the Leones Negros de la UdeG , for whom he played until 1991. After completing his active career in 1999 in the service of CF Pachuca , he held the position of coach. In this capacity, he began his work at Atlético Cihuatlán in the third-class Segunda División , before he returned to his original club and looked after the newly formed team of the Bachilleres UdeG in the second-class Primera División 'A' . His first appearance in the Primera División was in the 2002/03 season when he took over the CD Guadalajara . Since summer 2009 he has been in charge of the Tigres de la UANL , where he was dismissed at short notice in March 2010 and reinstated just two days later.

Jalisco Hall of Fame

In recognition of his services to sport in Jalisco, Guzmán was accepted into the Salón de la Fama del estado de Jalisco in February 2007 . It is believed that this decision was (also) brought about by the fact that during his career Guzmán worked as a player and coach for all four major Guadalajara clubs: he played and coached for the Leones Negros , Deportivo Guadalajara and Atlas Guadalajara the same clubs plus the Tecos (more details in the info box).
