Daniel Hugo Martins

Daniel Hugo Martins (born July 12, 1927 in Montevideo , † June 5, 2016 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Daniel Hugo Martins studied from 1946 at the law and social science faculty of the Universidad de la República (UdelaR). Since successfully completing his studies with a doctorate on December 29, 1951, he has been working as a lawyer in his own law firm. From 1952 to 1989 the expert in administrative law taught as a university professor at the UdelaR. Martins also published extensively.

Martins, who belongs to the Partido Nacional and there to the Movimiento Nacional de Rocha , was elected as representative of the group around Daniel Fernández Crespo in 1958 and 1962 as Concejal Departamental of the Departamento Montevideo .

Martins was Minister of Finance of Uruguay from June 11, 1964 to September 16, 1965. From 1991 to 1993 he held the position of Vice President of Banco Central del Uruguay . From August 18, 1993 to February 14, 1995 he held the office of Minister of Defense. He then took over again from February 15, 1995 to March 1, 1995 as head of the Ministry of Economics and Finance.
