Daniel Kölligan

Daniel Kölligan is a German Indo-Europeanist .

Life

From 1994 to 2000 he studied historical-comparative linguistics (Indo-European studies), philosophy, Romance studies (Spanish) and classical philology (Greek) at the University of Cologne . From 2000 to 2004 he was a research associate, DFG project Verbal Character, Suppletivism and Morphological Action in Indo-European. From 2005 to 2008 he was Research Assistant to the Diebold Professor in Comparative Philology at the University of Oxford . After completing his doctorate (2000–2007) in the subject of historical-comparative linguistics ( suppletion and defectivity in the Greek verb with José Luis García Ramón ), he was Academic Counselor , Institute for Linguistics, Department of Historical-Comparative Linguistics, University of Cologne from 2008 to 2014 . After his habilitation in 2014/2015 in the subject of historical-comparative linguistics ( Indo-European and Armenian: studies on the historical grammar of classical Armenian ), he represented the chair for historical-comparative linguistics at the University of Cologne in the summer semester of 2015. From 2015 to 2016 he was an academic senior councilor. Since 2019 he has held the chair for comparative linguistics at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

His main research interests are Greek, Classical Armenian, verbal morphology and verbal morphosyntax.
