biography

Lergon studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Lothar Baumgarten and graduated with a master's degree in 2006.

Artistic creation

The artist often uses transparent varnishes and synthetic, retroreflective fabric as a painting base, which reflects the light in the same direction from which it comes. The reduced gestures of the minimalist compositional elements and the interplay of immaterial light and surface material form the key elements of an independent and unmistakable artistic expression. Depending on the viewing position, the images appear matt or luminous and alternate between two-dimensionality and spatiality. His abstract motifs often remind the recipient of shapes that are familiar to us in connection with recordings from the macrocosm (universe and space) and microcosm (cells and microorganisms). From this he creates an ambivalent painterly gesture that is generously distributed over the surface and creates space for interpretation.
