Daniel Schmid (bobsledder)

Daniel Schmid (born January 22, 1976 ) is a former Swiss bobsleigh pilot .

career

In January 2010 he achieved the greatest success of his career when he won the European Championship bronze medal. Further good results opened the way for him to take part in the Olympic Games in Vancouver for the first time, as the third pilot behind Ivo Rüegg and Beat Hefti . There he decided not to participate after two falls in training and criticized the difficult track.

On May 25, 2010, he announced his retirement from top-class sport.
