Daniel Schumann (born February 13, 1977 in Weimar ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

After Schumann had played at SV 1924 Münchenbernsdorf in his youth , he moved to Bayer Leverkusen at the age of 17 , where he remained without a Bundesliga appearance for three years. From 1997 to 2005 he played at SC Freiburg , where he played 106 games in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. He was promoted to the first division twice with the SC. After Freiburg was relegated to the 2nd division in 2005, Schumann left the club.

From 2005 to 2007 he played for the second division Kickers Offenbach . After several weeks without a club, he was signed by the regional league team FSV Frankfurt in October 2007 . With the FSV he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga after this round and completed twelve second division games for the Bornheimer in the 2008/09 season. Since his contract was not extended, he was without a club after the end of the season.

From February 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, he was under contract with Bayer Leverkusen's second team before ending his career.

Private

Since 2007 he has been running the Schumann Soccer Academy with his father Norbert , where he acted as a coach. Since his father's death in May 2011, he has been the director and coach of the football school.
