Daniel Weiss (Slavist)

Daniel Weiss (born June 11, 1949 in Zurich ) is a Swiss Slavist and linguist.

Daniel Weiss received his doctorate in 1975 under Peter Brang and was appointed full professor for Slavic linguistics at the University of Hamburg in 1982 . In 1988 he went from there to the University of Munich , and since 1993 he has held the chair for Slavic Linguistics at the University of Zurich . He is a founding member of the Slavic Konstanzer Kreis .
