Danielle Dax (born September 23, 1958 in Southend ) is an English musician.

Danielle Dax began her musical career in 1979 as a keyboardist with Army Turtle and the Crossroads .

In 1980 she became a member of the Lemon Kittens , a band led by Karl Blake . Blake and Dax released two records on United Dairies with Lemon Kittens: We Buy A Hammer For Daddy (1980) and The Big Dentist (1982).

In 1982 the band split, and Danielle Dax pursued her solo projects from then on, while Blake founded the Shock Headed Peters .

Her first solo release, Pop Eyes, followed in 1983.

After a guest appearance in the Neil Jordan film Die Zeit der Wölfe in 1984, she released her best-known work, the EP Jesus Egg That Wept , from which the piece Evil Honky Stomp in particular became an independent hit.
