Danya Segal

Danya Segal (born May 13, 1958 in London ) is a British recorder player and music producer .

Life

Segal was born in 1958 in London to a director and an actor. She studied with Walter Bergmann in her hometown and came to Germany in 1980 to study the flute with Ferdinand Conrad at the Hanover University of Music. She then studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Kees Boeke and Walter van Hauwe. She is a founding member of Musica Alta Ripa .

In addition to her involvement with Musica Alta Ripa, she regularly appears as a recorder player in various baroque productions. In 2001, Danya Segal founded the SchlossAkkord festival together with Helena Freifrau von Cramm and Bernward Lohr, and since then she has also been director of the festival.
