Dara is an ancient Egyptian necropolis of the Old Kingdom and the First Intermediate Period . The place is in Middle Egypt west of the Nile between the cities Asyut and Meir .
In Dara there are the remains of a pyramid , which is assigned to the local prince Chui from the 9th / 10th dynasty , the Chui pyramid . The size of the building is surprising: with a base length of 130 m it would have been larger than the Djoser pyramid .
