Darb-e-Imam Shrine
The Darb-e-Imam Shrine ( Persian امامزاده درب امام), located in the Dardasht district of Isfahan in Iran , is a burial complex with a burial ground, shrine buildings and courtyard-like structures belonging to different construction periods and styles. The first structures were built by Jalal al-Din Safarshah during the reign of Jahan Shah , a representative of the Turkmen tribal federation Qara Qoyunlu , in 1453.
The facility has recently acquired particular importance when Peter Lu recognized and published the new, targeted implementation of self-similar patterns using elements from the Girih tiles , which are around 300 years older . The topic is only found more than 500 years later in independently developed findings, for example on fractal structures and especially on Penrose tiling , which was published in 1974.
