Dardo (German arrow, spear) is the name of an Italian armored personnel carrier .

It was developed together with the Ariete main battle tank in the 1980s by a consortium of companies consisting of Oto Melara , Fiat and IVECO for the Italian army . A total of 200 of these tanks had been put into service by 2005, with another 300 to follow in various versions (including TOW rocket carriers, 120 mm mortar carriers). Originally the armored personnel carrier “Dardo” was supposed to be put into service in the early 1990s, but the program was delayed considerably due to financial problems. The former designation "VCC-80" is practically no longer used.
