Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati

Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati (* 1966 ) is a Swiss scholar of religion .

Life

She completed her theology studies at the Universities of Freiburg im Üechtland and Zurich in 1996 with a doctorate in theology. After her habilitation in religious studies in 2002 at the University of Zurich and research stays in Rome , Oxford and Trënt , she was SNSF professor for religious studies from 2004 to 2009 . From 2010 to 2016 she headed the Center for Religion, Economics and Politics. Since October 2016 she has been teaching as a professor for religious studies and religious history at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Munich .

Her main research interests are the theory and methods of religious studies, image, film and audiovisual media and religion, gender and spatial theories in religious research and the history of religion and contemporary European culture.
