Darkpunk or "Düsterpunk" is a general umbrella term for the darker varieties of punk and post-punk . The term is often used analogously with the following varieties of punk music:

• Gothic punk and death rock
• Depro punk
• Horror punk (sometimes more differentiated than horror rock )
