The Darnley Bay is a large bay on the south side of the Amundsen Gulf in the Northwest Territories ( Canada km) with a mouth width of 32, which cuts around 45 km deep into the country.

To the west lies the Parry Peninsula , and to the east the Canadian Shield begins at Halcro Point . The terrain there rises slightly and is characterized by ice age deposits. The Hornaday River flows into the bay 14 km east of the Inuit settlement Paulatuk in the south.

Darnley Bay was first described in more detail in 1915 as part of the Canadian Arctic Expedition from 1913 to 1918.
