Darren Clive Fichardt (born May 13, 1975 in Pretoria ) is a South African professional golfer .

Career

He hit the professional career in 1994 and initially turned to the South African tournament series Sunshine Tour . There he won the money list ranking in the 1999/2000 and 2003/04 seasons. Fichardt has been playing on the European Tour since 2001 and has so far won two tournaments, including the very well-filled Qatar Masters 2003. In the 2005 season, he had a hangover, but was able to qualify for the tour again through the Tour School . In November 2008, however, Fichardt missed full eligibility to play for the 2009 season.

In 2000 he played alongside Retief Goosen for South Africa in the World Cup .

Darren Fichardt has been married to his wife Natasha - a trained sports psychologist - since 2000, they have one child and residences in Pretoria and Manchester .
