content

After Akela is the new leader of the wolf pack, Mowgli is excluded from the pack. Together with his friends Balu and Baghira , he experiences exciting adventures in the jungle and hopes one day to be accepted as a real wolf in the pack. He meets new friends, such as a porcupine , but also some less friendly contemporaries, such as the tiger Shir Kahn, the jackal Tabaqui and the snake Kaa. Together, the three animals help in need and thwart the evil machinations of Shir Kahn and Tabaqui.

Main characters:

Mowgli: Mowgli has lessons from his teacher Balu almost every day. When he doesn't have lessons, he plays with his friends, the other animals, in the jungle.

Balu: Balu is a sloth bear and the good-natured teacher Mowglis. His favorite foods are honey and watermelons. Although he is against many things that Mowgli does, he cannot be angry with his little friend for long.

Baghira: Baghira is a panther and one of Mowgli's best friends. He is almost always present at his lessons and likes to romp through the jungle with the human boy, as Mowgli is called by many animals. When Shir Khan attacks Mowgli, the panther is always by his friend.

Shir Khan: The King Tiger is Mowgli's greatest enemy. He thinks that the human boy does not belong in the jungle, so he tries by all means to kill Mowgli.

Tabaqui: Tabaqui is a devious and crafty jackal . He does everything his constant companion, Shir Khan, orders. Most of the time, much to the chagrin of the tiger, it fails.

Kaa: The python Kaa can be very moody at times. Although he is neutral and has nothing to do with Shir Khan's attacks on Mowgli, he often helps the human boy.

Akela: Akela can proudly call himself the leader of the wolf pack in the jungle. He likes Mowgli, but his stepson Phaona has nothing for the boy and tries again and again to ridicule Mowgli in front of Shir Khan.

Daruka: Daruka is an Indian wolf and Mowgli's father. Often the adopted son visits him and his family. His nose is one of the best in the jungle.

Rakscha: She once raised Mowgli and is always happy when he comes to see her. The she-wolf often gives Mowgli good advice and settles the disputes between Mowgli and his wolf siblings Bala and Lali.

Bala & Lali: The wolf siblings keep their parents Rakscha and Daruka on their toes. Lali is a bit vain, while her brother Bala often likes to show off. They prefer to play with Mowgli and despite some disputes, the three of them frolic through the jungle together.

Phaona: He's also an Indian wolf and Mowgli's greatest adversary in the wolf pack. From the beginning he was against Mowgli being accepted into the pack and tried to use all tricks to make the human boy unpopular with his uncle Akela and did not hesitate to call Shir Khan for help.

Hathi: The Asian elephant is a good friend of Baloo, Baghira and Mowgli. He is very good-natured and clever and often helps Mowgli out of a tight spot. His only weakness is his elephant memory, which sometimes lets him down.

Gayini: Gayini is Hathi's wife and very strong-willed, but the elephant lady has a good heart, especially when it comes to their children, Hita and Appu.

Appu & Hita: The two elephant children are the pride of their parents Gayini and Hathi. Although the two often quarrel, they are soon in a good mood again and play together with Mowgli. Hita is a girl while Appu is an elephant boy.

Chil: The Brahmin consecration is admired by the whole jungle. Chil is strong and vigorous and a friend of Mowgli.

Darsi: With her short-term memory, Darsi can really annoy her friends. But in reality the little nectar bird is nice and helpful and always there when you need it.

Monkey gang: These monkeys have nothing but nonsense on their mind and only do what they like or enjoy. They lock Mowgli in a room in their abandoned temple complex, ride the elephant children Appu and Hita and argue with Tabaqui.

Masha: She is the leader of the monkey gang and very vain. Despite her ape wits, she's not stupid and if the monkey has got something on her mind, she gets it through. Still, her cronies don't always obey her and prefer to withdraw when she makes a mistake.

Uuh & Buh: The two turtles are quiet companions and don't like excitement. Uuh can be a bit scratchy while his wife Boo is mostly nice.

Jakala: The big swamp crocodile takes what it can get. But as the father of five sons, he too has a good heart. Jakala even takes on Shir Khan if need be and usually wins.

Ikki: Ikki, the Indian porcupine , is shy and reserved. She is very good friends with Mowgli and sometimes uses her quills to free him from some dangerous situations.

Rikki Tikki Tavi: Another friend of Mowgli's is Rikki Tikki Tavi, who is usually only addressed as Rikk. As an Indian mongoose , he often fights cobras, but doesn't do rash things.

Ponya: Ponya is a red panda . She is very fearful and often unintentionally puts herself into great danger. But Mowgli, Balu and Baghira are happy to help her without complaining.
