The Glasperlenspiel in Asperg e. V. is a cabaret with its own amateur theater stage in Asperg near Ludwigsburg / Stuttgart . The cultural association was founded in 1987 by Horst Maßholder. The Glasperlenspiel in Asperg is located in the old rectory in Asperg on Kelterstrasse, not far from Michaelskirche.

The Glasperlenspiel in Asperg e. V. is a multi-branch company. There are events in the fields of theater, cabaret, jazz, classical music and lectures. Regular exhibitions are also organized in the theater. There are also monthly offers for children and families.

Theater productions

The Glasperlenspiel in Asperg e. V. has been performing its own theater productions under professional direction with its own theater ensemble (amateur actors) since it was founded. More than 50 theater productions have been successfully staged in this way (status 10/2019) Some plays are award-winning:

  • 2007: Dialect Theater Prize Baden-Württemberg Oskarle, category Very good performances for the play "Himmel und Hölle" by Dietmar Steimer
  • 2008: Dialect Theater Prize Baden-Württemberg Oskarle, category Best Group for the play “The Woman for Leba” based on the model “The School of Women” by Molière
  • 2014: German amateur theater award amarena, dialect and language section for the play "The Swabian Tartüff" based on "The Tartuffe or the Frauditor" by Molière

V. is a registered, non-profit association and is not geared towards making a profit: The income is used to design the cultural program and to maintain the institution “Das Glasperlenspiel in Asperg”. The management and organization of gaming operations are completely covered by volunteers.
