The Year of the Wild (original title: Our Planet ) is a five - part long - term documentary film series from 2009 by Daniela Pulverer and Jayne Edwards . Eight camera teams were on the move around the planet for 365 days to document impressive natural spectacles. The five episodes each relate to two to three months of a year.
