The mayor Pfalzfeld was one of ten Prussian mayors , in which the formed 1816 district Sankt Goar in Koblenz divided administratively. From 1822 on, the region belonged to the Rhine Province that was newly formed that year . 18 rural communities were under the administration of the mayor's office . The administrative seat was in today's local community Pfalzfeld in the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .

In 1927 the mayor's office in Pfalzfeld was renamed to Amt Pfalzfeld , which in 1968 became part of the association of Pfalzfeld and of 1970 of the newly formed association of Emmelshausen .

The communities in the mayor's district of Pfalzfeld belonged to a total of five different territories at the end of the 18th century . In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the left bank of the Rhine . Mayor of Pfalzfeld

Due to the resolutions at the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the Rhine-Moselle department was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia . Under the Prussian administration, administrative districts and districts were newly formed in 1816 . Pfalzfeld office

Like all mayor's offices in the Rhine Province, the mayor's office in Pfalzfeld was renamed to Amt Pfalzfeld in 1927 . In 1934 the two parishes in the Palatinate and Trier Laudert were merged. Otherwise there were no changes in the associated communities until 1968.

On the basis of the "Eighth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate", the Association of Pfalzfeld was dissolved in 1970. The local communities of Bickenbach, Birkheim, Hausbay, Hungenroth, Leiningen, Lingerhahn, Maisborn, Mühlpfad, Niedert, Norath, Pfalzfeld, Schwall and Thörlingen were assigned to the newly formed community of Emmelshausen . Lamscheid had previously been incorporated into Leiningen. Braunshorn and Dudenroth came to the community of Kastellaun in 1970 , Laudert to the community of Sankt Goar .

According to the "Topographical-Statistical Description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province" from 1830, the Pfalzfeld mayorry included 14 villages, three hamlets and seven mills. In 1816 a total of 2,457 inhabitants were counted; In 1828 there were 2,951 inhabitants, including 1,493 men and 1,458 women; 2,569 of the inhabitants belonged to the Catholic and 382 to the Protestant faith. In 1843 there were Catholic schools in Bickenbach, Braunshorn, Laudert (Trierisch), Leiningen, Lingerhahn and Norath, and there was a Protestant school in Pfalzfeld.

In the administrative area of ​​the mayor's office Pfalzfeld a total of 3,634 inhabitants lived in 692 houses and 721 households; 1,733 of the residents were male and 1,801 female. Regarding religious affiliation, 3,068 were Catholic and 466 were Protestant. There were Catholic parish churches in Bickenbach, Lingerhahn and Norath, and an Evangelical church in Pfalzfeld.

In 1885 the total area of ​​the municipalities belonging to the mayor's office was 5,711 hectares , of which 2,039 hectares were arable land, 677 hectares were meadows and 2,467 hectares were forest.
