history
Maisborn is mentioned for the first time as Mennichisburnen in 1275 in a comparison of the chapter from St. Martin zu Worms with Hermann von Milwalt . This comparison is about the tithe in Maisborn and surrounding villages that the von Milwalt family had held for generations. At least half of the village must have been allodial owned by the Milwalts during this period . In 1330, the Wepeling Theoderich von Milewald gave fiefdom to half the village and in 1333 the jurisdiction of Mensborn Kurtrier .
In the 15th century the place came to the Duchy of Palatinate-Simmern via an unknown route . From 1673 Maisborn belonged to the Electoral Palatinate . With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops in 1794 , the place became French. In 1815 he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . Since 1946 the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
