Numerous barrows southwest of the village in the community forest and in the state forest of Lützelsoon indicate prehistoric settlement. The first documentary mention in a Ravengiersburg document comes from the year 1335. The Counts of Sponheim owned the place. In the 18th century the place became part of the margraviate of Baden . With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops , the place became French, in 1815 it was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . Since 1946 the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Blazon : “Split over a shield base made of blue and gold; on the right a black church in silver, on the left a silver bowl in red over a silver amphora. "

The shield base of the coat of arms indicates the Count of Sponheim. The small chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1335. The bowl and the amphora in the left field are reminiscent of finds from excavations from Roman times that were made in 1951 on the edge of the village.

church

Most of the community's residents are Protestant. - A chapel dedicated to the Mother of God was mentioned in a document as early as 1335. It belonged to the parish of Gemünden. From 1609, Schli Various became an independent parish. The church, built in 1882, was badly damaged at the end of the Second World War and was finally rebuilt by the population. In 1978 the Evangelical Church Community Schliigart merged with the Evangelical Church Community of Gemünden.
