Kümbdchen , official spelling until December 6, 1935: Chümbdchen, is a local community in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Simmern-Rheinböllen community .

The place is located on the western slope of the Külzbachtal and Kondbachtal. In the place the Kondbach flows into the Külzbach. The Schinderhannes cycle path runs directly through the district .

history

In the area around Kümbdchen there are Stone Age and Roman Age finds. The first documentary mention comes from the year 1072. Kümbdchen was a district of Simmern, the seat of the Duchy of Palatinate-Simmern . From 1673 the place belonged to the Electoral Palatinate . With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops , the place became French, in 1815 it was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . The village has been an independent municipality since 1862 and has belonged to the newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946.
