Otto Konrad (politician)

Otto Konrad (born February 26, 1896 in Kümbdchen ; † April 9, 1973 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Konrad attended elementary school and agricultural school. He then completed training in agriculture and was a soldier in the First World War. From 1924 he worked as a self-employed farmer.

In 1934 he became a member of the Nazi war victims' pension , in 1938 of the NSV and in 1942 of the NSDAP .

After the war he first joined the CDU , but switched to the FDP in 1951. For the CDU he was from 1948 a member of the district council and the district committee Simmern. From 1952 to 1954 he was second district deputy for the FDP in Simmern. In 1959 he was elected to the fourth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate in constituency 2 , to which he belonged for two electoral terms until 1967. In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural policy committee.

He also did volunteer work. In 1935 he became chairman of the association Credit Hunsrücker eGmbH in Simmern and Erbhofrichter the Erbhofgericht Simmern.1948 he became chairman of the local farmers' association Simmern and member of the Presidium of the farmers and winegrowers association Rhineland-Nassau in Koblenz. From 1949 he was a board member of the Rhineland-Nassau Chamber of Agriculture and from 1957 chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate Animal Disease Fund . He was chairman of the Association of Rhenish cattle breeders .

In 1965 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class.
