coat of arms

Reckershausen coat of arms
Blazon : "Under the black shield head, inside striding, red-armored, tongued, golden lion, split, in front red-silver sheathed, behind in gold a black sloping grid, covered with two crossed black mountain hammers."

The municipality has had this coat of arms since 1990.

Justification of the coat of arms: The lion refers to the former sovereigns, the Count Palatine near the Rhine and the Dukes of Simmern. Reckershausen was in the former provost area of Ravengiersburg. Until the abbey was dissolved in 1566, they were its governors and until 1707 they were the rulers of the provost's office . The front field refers to the rear county of Sponheim, which had numerous "rear seats" and 19 "court riders" in the village. The inclined grid symbolizes the mesh of a sieve. Screen making and screen trade were of great importance in the past centuries. The mountain hammers point to the ore mining carried out in the area.
