This is America, Charlie Brown (original title: This Is America, Charlie Brown ) is an eight-part American Animation - mini-series that was produced and from 1988 to 1989 and in such comic strips of Peanuts -creator Charles M. Schulz is based.

Charlie Brown and friends jointly research the history of the United States of America . You will meet famous personalities like George Washington and the Wright brothers , experience the first moon landing , travel on the Mayflower etc. In contrast to the other animated episodes in which the Peanuts appear, this series shows adults.

Production and publication

The series, with eight 25-minute episodes each, was produced in 1988 by Lee Mendelson Film Productions and Bill Melendez Productions. It was directed by Sam Jaimes , Evert Brown , Bill Meléndez and Sam Nicholson , and Lee Mendelson wrote the scripts. Gordon D. Brenner, Chuck McCann and Warren Taylor were responsible for editing.

It first aired on CBS from October 21, 1988 to May 23, 1989. The episodes were also released on VHS and later on DVD. The first episode, The Mayflower Voyagers , was repeated in a cut version even more often for Thanksgiving . It was first broadcast in Germany from September 3 to October 22, 1991 on ProSieben , followed by several reruns.
