Sam Nicholson (born January 20, 1995 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish football player who plays in Major League Soccer with the Colorado Rapids .

Career

Sam Nicholson was born in January 1995 in the Scottish capital Edinburgh . At the age of twelve, he began his career in 2007 at Heart of Midlothian , the city's largest football club alongside Hibernian . On August 31, 2013, the 5th match day of the 2013-14 season , Nicholson made his professional debut for the club against Inverness Caledonian Thistle . The Hearts were at the time in bankruptcy proceedings caused by Roman Romanov . As a punishment, the Hearts received a 15-point deduction. As bottom of the table at the end of the 2013/14 season, Nicholson rose with his club in the second division. In his debut season, the midfielder played 25 games and scored two goals. In the following second division season Nicholson succeeded with his team of direct promotion.

National team

Nicholson played once in April 2013 in the Scottish U-18 against Israel . In the period from 2013 to 2014, Nicholson ran six times for the U-19 . He has been playing for this age group since his U-21 debut in March 2015 against Hungary .
